SYNACORE
Welcome to SYNACORE, we need your help! The retro-futuristic cyberworld of Synthasia has been infected with malicious malware and it's your job to wipe them all out and recover the stolen data. Swing and fly your way through carefully crafted levels with nothing but your trusty cyberhand while smashing the malware to bits. Remember, momentum is the key!
FEATURES:
- Smooth movement with deceptively simple but unique grappling hook mechanics that feels satisfying to master
- 8 levels that encourage you to go fast and find your own path to obtain the quickest time
- Immersive low-poly vaporwave visuals and a dynamic soundtrack with andrenaline-pumping synths
- Level progress and best clear times are saved between playthroughs
CONTROLS:
- WASD/mouse - movement
- SPACE - jump
- SHIFT - hold to slide, retaining momentum
- LEFT CLICK - hold to launch hand and swing
- WASD inputs while starting swing - control the swing direction
- R - restart level
- ESC - back to level select (not working in the jam version)
NOTE ON COMBOS:
Destroying a malware lets the player enter a combo. This lasts until the player touches the ground. If a player falls to their death, the combo is cancelled and all the malware destroyed in that combo get respawned. The player is always respawned on the last platform they jumped from. If the player completes the entire level in a single combo (without touching the ground), this will result in a PERFECT CLEAR, indicated by a glowing border around the level.
ADVANCED/SPEEDRUNNING TIPS:
- Using directional input while initiating a swing is very important! This lets you launch yourself in any direction you want, in a single swing. Moving directly between malware in a smooth manner while retaining your momentum is the key to faster times.
- Experiment with how you can best use your swings. For example, swinging to the LEFT while BELOW a platform will let you launch yourself UP and to the RIGHT. Use both horizontal and vertical swings!
- Plan out your route before commiting to it for maximum efficiency.
- Use the SLIDE! If you land on a platform while sliding, you can retain all of your momentum. On top of that, bunny-hopping can let you build up even more speed, as long as you can control it.
- Grabbing onto malware or green points while moving towards them can give you lots of speed, so always try to align your momentum before hooking onto them.
- You can always trade height for speed and vice versa. Don't be afraid to make a leap of faith! Jumping directly down is the fastest and simplest way to get you momentum going, after which you can swing to propel yourself in any direction. Just beware, you will never be able to get higher than the point you started from by using swinging alone.
This game was made for Godot Wild Jam 88 with the theme MOMENTUM. No wildcards were used.

Mouse input is broken for me
Edit: issue on my system it seems?
Hi! Thank you for taking the time to let us know about the issue. :) It would mean a lot if you could let us know what OS and browser you were using. We may be able to track it down!
It's not something you'll be able to fix, don't worry
I realised when I had the same issue on other games...
